but normally we will start praying at 10pm till midnight 1am of the 8th day of cny.
FYI, the celebration is more grand than the first day of cny (i mean 14th of feb) you can hear fire cracker around melaka from 10 onwards, HUHOOOO! i love fire crackers!
should i start with how this day come??there are many version of it,
what i know is something like this
One day, i think is during dynasty Tang la, the hokkien people was being chased by the soldier to be killed, then they hide behind the bamboo tree till the 8th day of cny, they started coming out when the soldier balik istana. so ngam the 9th day is the tian gong's birthday, so they think it must be from the blessing of the god (tian gong- who is also the most besar one) and why they being chased by soldier, which i think is quite ridiculous
is because of in hokkien, orang is pronounce as Lang which in mandarin is sound like wolf, so they thought there are wolf, so they wanted to kill them!
human and wolf, dont tell me you cant differentiate it!i think must be wrong with the story teller. you guys go wiki about it ok!!
now i shall proceed with what people do,
no.1 lion dance
tong qiang tong qiang, lion dance to bring more luck to the family
no.2 burn "fake money"
no.3 Food
huat ke
normally people will pray food which are contained sugar, like candies, jelly, those sweeet stuff, so that when the god eat those sweet food, they will be "sweet tooth" then they will report only the good thing bout the family to Tian Gong
